The Saab 900 was a car produced by Saab Automobile from 1978 until 1998 in two generations. The 1st generation (Series 1) was produced from 1978 to 1993 while the 2nd generation
(Series 2) from 1994 to 1998. The line was replaced by the
Saab 9-3 in 1998.
The "new generation" Saab 900 Series 2 (also referred to as the GM900 or NG900 among enthusiasts) was built on GM's Opel Vectra platform to replace the
classic Saab 900. Variants included the 900 S and 900 SE models in 3-door, 5-door and convertible versions.
