The Corniche was the coupe and convertible version of the
Silver Shadow introduced in 1971. It was sold as both a Rolls-Royce and a Bentley with the only difference being Bentley changed its name to
Bentley Continental in 1984 when the 2nd generation was introduced. Rolls-Royce, on the other hand, maintained its Corniche model name well up to 2000. Coupe versions were dropped in 1982 and the Corniche became a purely convertible line.
