The W124 Coupe was introduced in 1984 and was the 2-door version of the W124 Sedan. It replaced the W123 Coupe in 1984 but this time only featured one model, the 230CE. The next model, the 300CE wasn't added until 1988. in 1991, the 300CE Cabriolet was added and then the nomenclature change of 1993 dropped the CE designation for all 2-door cars. Only 4 models emerged after that, the E320 Coupe and the E200/E220/E320 Cabriolet. All models were replaced in 1997 by a new executive-sized 2-door class, the CLK-Class.
