The Mercedes-Benz W123 was a line of mid-sized cars that replaced the
W114/
W115. Initially just sedans, they were longer and bigger than before and was first known as the new entry-level sedan line. That position was eventually taken over by the
Baby Benz in 1982. Late in 1976, a
coupe version was added while the wagon version was released in 1978. The whole line was superseded in 1985 by a new series of mid-sized cars, the
E-Class.
