The Ferrari F355 was a line of mid-engined 3.5-L V8 2-seater sports cars that replaced the
Ferrari 348 as Ferrari's 2-seater entry-level line. The change in nomenclature was due to a new invention: the 5-valve per cylinder head. The coupe version, the F355 Berlinetta, and the targa-topped version, the F355 GTS, was released in 1994 while the convertible version, the F355 Spider was released in 1995 along with a race-ready coupe, the F355 Challenge. All models were replaced in 1999 by the aluminum space-framed 3.6-L V8
Ferrari 360.
